Metal is going to be difficult to come by there, but there are the round rocks which give small amounts of metal consistently. Just above Cragg's Island, there is a nice river with a waterfall, very scenic. I had a base there for a couple weeks and never saw a beaver. Gigas do spawn at Far's Peak, so don't build too close to the mountain. Its PvE so nothing really can be done, but I had a base at hidden lake and it didnt stop beavers from spawning, they are likely not lying but either they have turrets that kill them when they spawn or they are using the beavers for a beaver dam farm. Heres a step-by-step guide for building a base at Hidden Lake. Just be careful as Rexes spawn along the river going inland. Along the beach outside the Hidden Lake is also a great place since you get a good view of high level beacons around the area. Even better, you can get crystal and obsidian. Metal is not far off at Far's Peak or Winter's Mouth mountains. Nothing big is really going to make its way in there. ![]() It is one of the best PvE and PvP base locations in Fjordur. The Hidden Lake has some dangers, but it is pretty secluded. Shimmering Halls is one of the few Lord of the Rings references in ARK Fjordur. The only thing I'd be concerned about is ocean predators.
